Text Box: A message from the Pastor:

In response to the current controversy surrounding the statements of one of our pastor’s, the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., the United Church of Christ is calling on all UCC churches to engage in a dialogue on racial justice on Sunday, May 18.  I have been working with the Board of Deacons on planning a special, creative service of worship for that Sunday that will feature members of our own congregation sharing their stories of formative experiences dealing with race.  I am also inviting everyone to come prepared to share your own stories and thoughts in a forum to be held in the vestry after worship on that Sunday.

In preparation for this event, I am beginning this week a sermon series titled: Time to Talk: Perspectives on Race and Justice in America.  The first installment in this series is titled: “What Are We Waiting For?”  I hope you will join us for the next three weeks and take part in this important dialogue which will be going on all across our nation.
